Security Guard Software
for Charlotte Companies

CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Charlotte and the surrounding Carolinas: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial. Charlotte work runs from the lobbies of Uptown bank towers to distribution centers on I-85 and race weekends in Concord, and the metro crosses the state line, so many rosters carry North Carolina and South Carolina credentials side by side.

What does guard work in Charlotte look like?

Uptown towers and bank campuses

Charlotte is one of the country’s largest banking centers, and the Uptown towers and operations campuses run front desks, loading docks and after-hours rounds with strict visitor rules. Post orders per lobby keep each desk on that tenant’s procedure.

A state line through the metro

York and Lancaster counties in South Carolina are part of daily Charlotte work. One roster can show who holds a North Carolina registration, who holds a SLED certificate and who holds both, before anyone crosses the line on a shift.

Airport hub and its perimeter

Charlotte Douglas is a major connecting hub. Around it sit cargo buildings, hotels, rental lots and distribution, where a geofence on each lot and a checkpoint trail beat a phone call to the officer.

Race weekends and stadium days

Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, Bank of America Stadium and the Spectrum Center create crews that exist for a weekend. Build the roster for the date, open shifts to qualified officers and talk on push-to-talk channels.

Distribution on I-85 and I-77

Warehouses along both interstates want overnight yard tours and gate logs. The trailer plate is read from a photo, and each checkpoint scan carries time and position.

Hospitals and campuses

Large hospital systems and UNC Charlotte want garage rounds, escorts and incident categories that match their reporting, readable in a portal by their own security managers.

What do North Carolina and South Carolina require of Charlotte guards?

On the North Carolina side, the Private Protective Services Board licenses the company under Chapter 74C of the General Statutes, and the company must keep a qualifying agent. Officers are registered: training and a criminal record check come before work, an unarmed officer completes a 16-hour course, and the unarmed registration expires one year after it is issued. Armed officers add a 20-hour course and a firearm registration permit that also expires after a year. New hires may work a probationary period of up to 20 consecutive days.

Cross into Fort Mill or Rock Hill and the rules change: South Carolina’s Law Enforcement Division (SLED) licenses the company and issues each officer’s registration certificate, renewed every year. An officer who works both sides needs both.

CGuardPro holds each registration and its expiry on the officer profile and warns before it lapses; it does not file with either state. Details on our North Carolina and South Carolina pages.

Charlotte Security Software Questions

Can CGuardPro keep an officer from being sent to a South Carolina post without a SLED registration?

CGuardPro stores each credential with its state and expiry and warns before one lapses, so the scheduler can see who holds which. It does not block a shift on its own; the decision stays with you. Many companies simply schedule SC posts from the officers whose SC record is current.

How long can a new hire work in North Carolina before registering?

According to N.C.G.S. 74C-11, a probationary employee may work up to 20 consecutive calendar days, with training and a criminal record check done first, and registration follows within 30 days after the probationary period ends. Keep the hire date and course dates on the officer profile so the deadline is visible.

Can Uptown tenants pre-register their visitors?

Yes. A tenant can send a visitor a QR pass in advance, and the desk officer checks it on arrival. Walk-in visitors are logged at the desk with who they came to see and the time they left.

Do race-weekend crews need their own radios?

Not necessarily. Push-to-talk channels run inside the guard app over the data connection, so a temporary crew can talk from the first shift. A congested network at a sold-out event is still a network, so keep a fallback plan for the busiest hours.

Does CGuardPro work for companies with offices in both Charlotte and the Triangle?

Yes. Every branch, client and post sits in one operation, roles and permissions decide who sees what, and the live board filters by site or supervisor.
