Switching guard management software
from TrackTik, Silvertrac or GuardsPro

To switch to CGuardPro, export your officers, clients, sites and posts, schedules and checkpoint lists from your current system, start the 7-day free trial, and run one site on both systems for one to two weeks before moving the rest. A one-time $299.99 implementation fee covers configuring your account and sites, importing that data, training your team and go-live support. After that it is $5 per user per month.

What should you check before you switch?

Your current contract, first. The renewal date and the notice period decide your timeline far more than any setup work does. TrackTik's pricing page does not publish contract terms, so the only place to find yours is the agreement you signed. If you are on Silvertrac, note that it now belongs to Trackforce, the same group as TrackTik, so ask whether a renewal keeps you on the same product. GuardsPro publishes month-to-month pricing, which usually makes the timing easier.

Second, ask your current vendor what it will export and in what format. What comes with you is limited by their export, not by our import. If you are still deciding whether to move at all, read renew or switch guard software.

What data do you bring to CGuardPro?

Five things make a working operation, plus an archive. Spreadsheets are fine for all of them.

Data What to export Where it lands in CGuardPro
Officers Name, phone, email, role, license number and expiry, pay classification (W-2 or 1099 for US firms) Each officer gets a login to the guard app; supervisors to the supervisor app
Clients, sites and posts Client names and contacts, site addresses, the posts at each site, post orders Client › site › post, with a geofence per post (radius or polygon) and post orders the officer reads on shift
Schedules The current rotation and the next few weeks of shifts, plus standing relief arrangements The rotation is rebuilt in the scheduler and shifts are generated ahead
Checkpoints and tours A list of checkpoints per site, in patrol order, with how often each round runs Tours with QR or NFC checkpoints and missed-tour alerts; you place the new codes or tags
Client contacts for the portal Who at each client should see reports Client app and portal logins, included in the per-user price
History An archive export from the old system: incidents, DARs, tour logs Kept as your archive; CGuardPro starts the live record from day one

CGuardPro has no automatic connector to other vendors' systems. The import is done from your files as part of the implementation work. TrackTik, Trackforce, Silvertrac and GuardsPro are trademarks of their respective owners; CGuardPro is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

How does the switch run, step by step?

  1. 1

    Read your current contract

Find the renewal date and the notice period before anything else. That sets your timeline, not ours.

  2. 2

Export what the old system releases

Officers, sites, posts, schedules, checkpoint lists and an archive of reports. Spreadsheets are fine.

  3. 3

    Start the 7-day trial

Full features, no credit card. Set up one client and one or two sites yourself, or let us do it under the implementation package.

  4. 4

    Run one site in parallel

Officers clock in and run tours on CGuardPro while the old system keeps running everywhere else. One to two weeks is usually enough.

  5. 5

    Move the rest in groups

Site by site or client by client, not all on a Monday. Print or place the checkpoints before each group goes live.

  6. 6

    Switch off the old system

Once every site is live and you hold your archive export, give notice under your contract.

Why run one site in parallel first?

Because the problems in a switch are rarely technical. They are a checkpoint placed where there is no signal, a post order that still says "see the binder", or an officer who keeps using the old app out of habit. One site for one to two weeks shows you those while the old system still covers you. It also fits inside the 7-day trial, so you can decide before paying for anything.

On the parallel site, watch three things: whether clock-ins arrive with a GPS fix and a selfie, whether every round shows up as scanned checkpoints with time and position, and whether your client can see the day's report in the portal without anyone forwarding it. More on running parallel in migrating your data to new guard software.

What does the $299.99 implementation cover?

The setup work, done once: configuring your account and sites, importing your officers, clients, sites, posts and schedules from the files you export, training your team, branding the client portal and supporting go-live. It is not an automated migration tool and it does not move years of history; keep your archive export from the old system. If you prefer to do the setup yourself during the trial, you can.

What about payroll after the switch?

CGuardPro does not run payroll. For US companies on Gusto, approved hours go to Gusto as time sheets per officer and per post, classified as regular, overtime and double overtime under the federal 40-hour weekly rule and California's daily rules, for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors. Elsewhere, attendance exports to CSV, Excel or PDF for your payroll provider. Check this during the parallel run, on one real pay period.

Frequently asked questions

How do I switch from TrackTik, Silvertrac or GuardsPro to CGuardPro?+

Export your officers, clients, sites and posts, schedules and checkpoint lists from the current system, start the 7-day CGuardPro trial, and run one site on both systems for one to two weeks. Then move the remaining sites in groups and give notice under your old contract. The one-time $299.99 implementation fee covers setting up your account and sites, importing that data, training your team and go-live support.

Do you have an automatic importer for TrackTik or Silvertrac?+

No. We do not connect to other vendors' systems. You export your data, usually as spreadsheets, and the import is done as part of the implementation work covered by the one-time $299.99 fee. What comes with you is limited by what your current vendor lets you export, so ask them early.

How long does a switch take?+

The setup itself is a few days for a firm of ordinary size: clients, sites, posts, roster, checkpoints and apps on phones. The parallel run on one site takes one to two weeks. The rest depends on how many sites you have and on your notice period with the old vendor, which is usually the longest part.

Can I reuse my existing NFC tags or checkpoints?+

Ask us during implementation with the tag model you have. Plan on placing new QR codes or NFC tags for CGuardPro. Each scan is verified on our server against time and position, so the checkpoints need to be registered in CGuardPro either way.

What happens to my old reports and tour history?+

Keep an archive export from your current system before you switch it off: incidents, daily activity reports and tour logs, as PDF or spreadsheet. CGuardPro starts your live record from the first shift on the new system. We do not promise to load years of history from another vendor.

What does the switch cost?+

$5 per user per month, where a user is anyone with a login, plus $299.99 once for implementation. The 7-day trial is free. If you are a US company on Gusto, the Gusto integration is included at no extra cost.
