OfficerReports alternative
and the one number that decides it
If you are comparing an OfficerReports alternative, the most useful thing to know is that the two of us count differently. OfficerReports publishes a price per site, with unlimited officers on each. CGuardPro publishes a price per user, $5 a month for every seat. Both are honest, both are on public pages, and neither is cheaper in general. Which one costs you less comes down to how many people each of your sites carries, and this page shows you where the line falls.
Per site against per user
OfficerReports' pricing page lists $70 per site per month for its standard subscription between 2 and 15 sites, with a two-site minimum and lower rates at higher site counts. Every subscription includes unlimited officers. CGuardPro charges $5 per user per month, and a user is every seat: officers, supervisors, office staff and the client logins you hand out.
Divide one by the other and the break-even is roughly fourteen seats per site. Below that, a per-user price is cheaper; above it, a per-site price is. Most contract portfolios are lumpy, so do the sum site by site. A single-officer post covered around the clock usually needs four or five officers across a week, which lands well under $70 on a per-user price. A distribution centre running twenty officers on rotation is the opposite case, and unlimited officers per site wins it comfortably.
Two smaller lines belong in the same sum. OfficerReports lists a separate mobile patrol subscription, and sells NFC tags and QR label sheets as add-ons. We publish an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package. Put all of them in the first-year figure for both vendors.
What CGuardPro covers for that price
Everything starts from the officer's phone. Clock-in is geofenced and carries a selfie and a GPS fix. Patrol checkpoints are QR codes you print, or NFC tags if you prefer them, stamped against our server clock. The daily activity report hands the next officer the open items automatically. A silent SOS routes into your own control room, push-to-talk voice lives in the same app, supervisors see the shift live on a map, and each client gets a portal scoped to their own sites. The guard app, the reports and the portal also work in Spanish, which matters if your crews or your clients do. Trusted by 600+ security companies worldwide.
Who should choose OfficerReports
A firm with a handful of large, heavily staffed sites should look hard at a per-site price with unlimited officers; on that portfolio it will usually beat us, and the arithmetic above says so. OfficerReports also says on its own about page that it was founded by someone who spent almost ten years running a guard company, and a product shaped by an operator is a fair reason to put it on a shortlist.
Point by point, with our answers
| Topic | CGuardPro | How to check this with any vendor |
|---|---|---|
| The billing unit | Per user: $5 per month for every seat — admins, guards, supervisors and client users | Write down how many sites you run and how many people touch the system, then price both units. The cheaper one depends on that ratio, not on the headline. |
| Minimums and setup | No site minimum; optional one-time $299.99 implementation package | Ask for minimums, setup fees and hardware add-ons in the same quote as the monthly figure. |
| Trying it before you buy | 7-day free trial with full feature access, no credit card | Run one real client with its real sites on every trial, not a demo account. |
| Patrols and tours | QR codes printed from the dashboard or NFC tags, scanned with the guard's own phone and verified against server time and GPS | Ask which checkpoint types are included and which are bought per tag. |
| Daily activity reports and handover | Digital DAR with automatic shift handover: the incoming guard opens the outgoing guard's log | Ask to see the outgoing shift's log reach the incoming guard without anyone retyping or forwarding it. |
| Voice on shift | Push-to-talk channel inside the same app the guard already carries, no radios to buy | Ask whether voice is part of the platform, a separate product, or a third-party integration you pay for. |
| Panic and SOS | Silent SOS from the guard's phone into your own control room, with last known location and a full record | Ask to see the whole path: trigger, delivery, acknowledgement, and the record it leaves afterwards. |
| Client portal | Included: your client sees patrols, incidents and reports for their own sites | Ask whether each client gets their own login scoped to their sites, and whether it costs extra. |
| Spanish-speaking crews | Guard app, reports and client portal available in Spanish as well as English | Ask to see the guard app and a client report in Spanish if any of your officers or clients work in it. |
| Working with no signal | Scans, reports, photos and visitor entries queue on the phone and sync later: the report keeps the time it happened, the scan is stamped on arrival, the clock-in needs a connection | Ask for it in airplane mode during the demo — and ask what time each record ends up carrying. |

Before you decide
Put your site list in a spreadsheet with the real headcount on each, price it both ways, and then run the trial on the site where the two numbers are closest. More on pricing units is in how much security guard software costs, the full checklist is in how to evaluate guard management software, and every comparison we publish is on one page at security guard software compared.
Frequently asked questions
Is CGuardPro a real alternative to OfficerReports?+
Yes, for the same kind of buyer: a US guard company that wants reporting, tours, time and a client view from one app. CGuardPro covers shift scheduling, geofenced clock-in with a selfie, QR and NFC patrols, daily activity reports with shift handover, a silent panic button, push-to-talk voice, live GPS supervision and a client portal. The biggest practical difference is how each of us charges, and which one is cheaper depends on your sites, not on either of us.
How does OfficerReports price?+
Per site. Its pricing page lists $70 per site per month for 2 to 15 sites, with a two-site minimum, stepping down to $65 and $60 at higher site counts and a custom price above 100 sites; all subscriptions list unlimited officers. There is also a mobile patrol subscription at $40 per site per month with a five-site minimum, or $600 a month for unlimited sites, plus NFC tags and QR label sheets sold separately, and a 14-day free trial (officerreports.com/pricing-plans.html, checked September 2026).
Per site or per user: which is cheaper?+
It depends on how many people each site carries. At $70 per site and $5 per user, the break-even is roughly fourteen seats per site. A single-officer post covered around the clock usually needs four or five officers across the week, which on CGuardPro is well under $70 even after adding a supervisor. A large site with twenty officers on rotation is cheaper on a per-site price with unlimited officers. Count the seats you would really create — including office staff and client logins, since we charge every seat — and do the sum for your own sites.
Who should choose OfficerReports instead?+
A firm with a few large, heavily staffed sites, where unlimited officers per site beats any per-user price. Also a buyer who values that the product was started by someone who spent years running a guard company, which OfficerReports says on its own about page. For those firms the per-site model is simply the better deal, and we would rather you took it than bought on a table.
Do we need to buy tags or hardware?+
Not with CGuardPro. Checkpoints are QR codes you print from the dashboard, or NFC tags if you prefer them, scanned with the officer's own phone. If you choose NFC, price the tags and replacements the same way whichever vendor you pick.
How long does switching take?+
The technical part is days: clients, sites and posts, the roster, patrol routes, printed codes and the app on the phones. The optional $299.99 package covers us doing the import and the training. The slower part is organisational — agreeing incident categories and post orders. Keep your old report history exported and archived rather than migrated line by line; it is cheaper and just as defensible.
