TrackTik alternative
for buyers who want a second company on the shortlist

Most people who reach this page have three or four names in a spreadsheet and are trying to run a proper process. The single most useful thing we can tell you costs us nothing and takes one line: TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac all belong to Trackforce, which acquired TrackTik in 2022. If those names are on your list, your four-vendor comparison is a two-vendor comparison. The rest of this page is about what to do with that, and where an independent product fits.

Your shortlist may be shorter than it looks

Consolidation is normal in this category and it is not a scandal. Groups buy good products, keep the brands that have search traffic and customer bases behind them, and run them side by side for years. Nothing about that is dishonest, and the group states the ownership openly on its own site.

It does change your position at the table, though, in two concrete ways. The first is leverage: a competitive process only creates pressure between parties who actually compete, and quotes from sibling brands are coordinated by the same people. The second is risk concentration. If you shortlist three names from one group and pick any of them, every decision that group makes about roadmap, pricing and support becomes your decision too, and you spent your evaluation budget discovering the same company three times.

How to evaluate a product line, not just a product

The questions below are ones we would ask any multi-product vendor, and a straight seller will answer all of them without taking offence.

  1. Which named product does this quote cover? Get the product name on the proposal, not just the company name. Groups sometimes scope a deal across more than one platform, and the price you are comparing should belong to a specific thing.
  2. Which one would we actually run? Given our number of officers, our site count and our contract mix, which of your products do accounts like ours normally end up on, and why that one?
  3. What has shipped in that product this year? Not group announcements. Release notes for the platform we would be logging into, and the name of the person who owns it.
  4. If you later recommend a sibling product, what is that? A configuration change, or a migration with its own project, its own bill and its own data-mapping exercise? Ask for the answer before you sign, because it will be asked of you afterwards.
  5. Which entity holds our data? This decides who signs off an export and under whose terms it happens. It is a five-minute question now and a legal one later.

Where an independent product changes the arithmetic

CGuardPro is one product on one price list with one roadmap, and that is the relevant fact on this particular page. There is no second CGuardPro you could be steered onto in year two, no question about which SKU your quote covers, and no ambiguity about which company holds your patrol history. What you evaluate is what you would run.

Underneath that, the product is an operations platform built from the officer's phone outward: rotations and shift cover, geofenced clock-in with a selfie and a GPS fix, QR and NFC checkpoints stamped against our server clock, daily activity reports that hand the next officer the open items, silent SOS into your own control room, push-to-talk voice in the same app, live supervision on a map, and a client portal included in the seat price. Concentration is the trade we make in return: one product means one set of priorities, and if we get those wrong there is nowhere else in the family to move you. Weigh that honestly against the group's breadth.

The price is published, which also shortens the process. Five dollars per user per month covers every seat, including supervisors, office staff and the client logins you hand out, with a 14-day trial and an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package. You can put a first-year figure next to the other names on your spreadsheet before anyone calls you back.

Who should choose TrackTik

Scale and portfolio are real arguments and you should hear them stated fairly. Trackforce is one of the larger companies in this market, with a long deployment history and four established products behind it, and its site is published in several languages, so international operation is part of what they genuinely do rather than a weakness for a competitor to point at. If your evaluation is being run by a procurement function that weighs vendor size and expects a scoping exercise and a negotiated contract, that is the process they are built for. Breadth also cuts in your favour if your requirements are still moving: a group with four products has somewhere to put you.

Point by point, with our answers

Topic CGuardPro How to check this with any vendor
Getting to a number Published: $5 per user per month on the pricing page, plus an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package Ask for the total first-year cost — licence, implementation, training and every module you saw in the demo — as one figure, in writing.
Which product the quote covers One product, one price list, one roadmap. There is no second CGuardPro to be moved onto Where a company sells several platforms, ask in writing which one you are buying, which one your sites would run on, and what a later move between them involves.
Trying it before you buy 14-day free trial with full feature access, no credit card Ask whether you can run a real post on a trial with your own sites and your own people, or whether evaluation means a guided demo only.
What a "user" means One price per seat: admins, guards, supervisors and client users, with client portal access at no extra cost Ask exactly what the billing unit counts. Per guard, per user, per post and per site produce very different invoices from the same payroll.
Time to go live Days: load clients, sites and posts, build the roster, print QR codes, install the app Ask for a dated go-live plan and which parts of it create work on your side rather than theirs.
Patrols and tours QR or NFC checkpoints scanned with the guard's own phone, verified against server time and GPS Ask whether proprietary hardware is required, and what purchase, maintenance and replacement cost over five years.
Voice on shift Push-to-talk channel inside the same app the guard already carries, no radios to buy Ask whether voice is part of the platform, a separate product, or a third-party integration you licence and pay for separately.
Daily activity reports and handover Digital DAR with automatic shift handover: the incoming guard opens the outgoing guard's log Ask to see the outgoing shift's log reach the incoming guard without anyone retyping or forwarding it.
Panic and SOS Silent SOS from the guard's phone and from the client's app, routed into your own control room with last known location Ask to see the whole path: trigger, delivery, acknowledgement, and the record it leaves afterwards.
Client portal Included: your client sees patrols, incidents and reports for their own sites Get it in writing whether the portal is in the base price or an add-on, and whether the client gets an app or only emailed PDFs.
Working with no signal Scans, reports, photos and visitor entries queue on the phone and sync later: the report keeps the time it happened, the scan is stamped on arrival, the clock-in needs a connection Ask for it in airplane mode during the demo, not on a slide — and ask what time each record ends up carrying.

Ownership statements above come from the group's own public pages, read in September 2026. Nothing here describes TrackTik's features, pricing or support; for those the vendor's site is the source. TrackTik, Trackforce, GuardTek and Silvertrac are trademarks of their respective owners; CGuardPro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

The rest of the process

Once you know how many companies are really on your list, the evaluation is the ordinary one and it applies to us as much as to anyone. The twelve-point checklist, the pricing-unit arithmetic, the offline demo and what a migration genuinely costs are all in how to evaluate guard management software. Take it into every meeting, including ours.

Frequently asked questions

Are TrackTik, Trackforce, GuardTek and Silvertrac the same company?+

Yes. Trackforce acquired TrackTik in 2022 and the group publishes all four as its brands. Consolidation is ordinary in software and nobody has done anything wrong here, but it changes what a shortlist means. If three of your four candidates report to one board, you have two commercial relationships to compare, not four, and the leverage you thought you were building by running a wide process is mostly imaginary. Worth establishing early, and easy to establish: the group says so on its own site.

How do we evaluate a vendor that sells several products?+

Pin the quote to a named product before anything else, in writing, because a proposal that says only the company name can be satisfied by more than one thing. Then ask four follow-ups. Which product would our sites actually run on, given our size and mix? Is that product on the same release cycle as the flagship, or a slower one? If you later recommend we move to a sibling product, is that a migration with a project and a bill, or a switch? And which legal entity holds our data, since that decides who signs off an export. None of those are hostile questions and a straight seller will answer all four.

Is CGuardPro a real alternative to TrackTik?+

It is the independent name on a list that may otherwise be one company under four logos, which is a reason to look but not a reason to buy. The reason to buy is narrower. CGuardPro is a single product with a published price, a trial you can run on a live post, and a build that starts at the guard's handset rather than at the reporting layer. It covers the operational core: scheduling, geofenced clock-in, QR and NFC patrols, daily activity reports, panic button, push-to-talk, live GPS supervision and a client portal. Whether that is enough for your contracts is a question for your own trial, not for our table.

How much does TrackTik cost?+

Neither TrackTik nor Trackforce publishes figures; the pricing page is quote-based and begins with a demo. Plenty of good software is sold that way. It does mean the first honest year-one number reaches you after a conversation, so ask for it early, ask for it in writing, and ask it to cover every module you were shown. CGuardPro takes the other route: $5 per user per month is on our pricing page along with an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package, so you can do the arithmetic before you book anything. Checked September 2026 — verify both with the vendor on the day you decide.

Who should choose TrackTik?+

A buyer who wants breadth of portfolio and is comfortable buying it from a large group. Trackforce has a long deployment history, four established products to draw on, and a site published in several languages, so multi-country operation is genuinely part of what they do. If your evaluation is being run by a procurement function that expects a formal quote, a scoping exercise and a negotiated contract rather than a price on a page, that is the process they are built for. Being one of several products under one roof is also an advantage if your requirement might change: there is somewhere to move you.

What happens to a smaller product after an acquisition?+

Nobody outside the company can tell you, which is exactly why you ask rather than guess. The useful questions are answerable and specific: what has shipped in this particular product in the last twelve months, who is the named product owner for it, and what does the published roadmap say about it as opposed to the group. Ask the same of us. We have one product, which removes that risk and introduces a different one: if we get a priority wrong, there is no sibling product to move you onto. That is a fair trade to weigh, not a claim of superiority.

Do you offer a free trial?+

Fourteen days with full feature access and no card required. Spend it on one client and two or three sites with the genuine roster loaded and the codes printed, and let officers run ordinary shifts on their own phones. What you are looking for by the second week is whether records arrive without anyone being chased, and whether the awkward posts produce as much evidence as the easy ones. That tells you more about the next three years than any amount of menu exploration.
