Silvertrac alternative
for the guard firms Silvertrac was built for

If you are looking for a Silvertrac alternative, start with where Silvertrac is now. Trackforce Valiant announced its acquisition of Silvertrac Software in January 2020, and today the old silvertracsoftware.com address redirects to trackforce.com. That is not a criticism of anyone. It does mean the product many small and mid-sized guard companies chose on its own terms now sits inside a larger group, and the questions worth asking have changed. This page is about those questions, and about where an independent product sized for the same firms fits.

What Silvertrac was, in its own words

The 2020 announcement is worth reading because it states the positioning plainly. It described Silvertrac as focused on small and medium guard firms, and quoted its founder on more than twelve years spent building for them. It also named the need those firms have: accountability and reporting from the field without having to run a full enterprise platform. That need has not gone away because the brand changed hands. If it is the reason Silvertrac was on your list, it is the reason to judge every alternative, including us.

If you are a Silvertrac customer today

The useful move before a renewal is not to switch; it is to find out what you are renewing. Ask which named product and which legal entity the new contract covers. Ask whether the application your officers open every shift is on its own roadmap or planned to move onto another platform in the group, and when. Ask whether your pricing and service levels carry over. And ask for a full export of your patrol, incident and report history in a format you can open without the vendor. A clear answer to all four may well mean you should stay. A vague one is worth weighing.

We wrote the longer version of this in Silvertrac, TrackTik and GuardTek: now one company, and the argument about shortlists that turn out to be one vendor under several names is on the TrackTik alternative page.

Where CGuardPro fits

CGuardPro is an independent product built for the same shape of company: a regional firm where the person administering the software is also covering a post on Saturday night. Everything starts from the officer's phone. Clock-in is geofenced and carries a selfie and a GPS fix. Patrol checkpoints are QR or NFC codes stamped against our server clock. The daily activity report hands the next officer the open items automatically. A silent SOS routes into your own control room, push-to-talk voice lives in the same app, and your client follows their own sites through a portal that is included rather than sold on. Trusted by 600+ security companies worldwide.

The price is published. Five dollars per user per month covers every seat, with a 7-day trial and an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package if you want us to do the import and the training. You can put a first-year figure next to your renewal quote before anyone calls you back.

The trade we make in return is concentration. We have one product, which removes the question of which platform you end up on and introduces a different risk: if we set a priority wrong, there is no sibling product to move you onto. Weigh that honestly against a large group's breadth.

Point by point, with our answers

Topic CGuardPro How to check this with any vendor
Which company you are signing with CGuardPro, one independent product with one price list and one roadmap Ask for the legal entity on the contract and the named product it covers. After an acquisition these are not always the brand you searched for.
Getting to a number Published: $5 per user per month on the pricing page, plus an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package Ask for the total first-year cost — licence, implementation, training and every module you saw in the demo — as one figure, in writing.
Trying it before you buy 7-day free trial with full feature access, no credit card Ask whether you can run a real post on a trial with your own sites and your own people, or whether evaluation means a guided demo only.
Who administers it Built to be run by a supervisor between rounds: clients, sites, posts, roster and QR codes from one panel Ask who configures the system once it is live — your supervisor, or someone whose job is configuration.
Patrols and tours QR or NFC checkpoints scanned with the guard's own phone, verified against server time and GPS Ask whether proprietary hardware is required, and what purchase, maintenance and replacement cost over five years.
Daily activity reports and handover Digital DAR with automatic shift handover: the incoming guard opens the outgoing guard's log Ask to see the outgoing shift's log reach the incoming guard without anyone retyping or forwarding it.
Voice on shift Push-to-talk channel inside the same app the guard already carries, no radios to buy Ask whether voice is part of the platform, a separate product, or a third-party integration you pay for separately.
Panic and SOS Silent SOS from the guard's phone into your own control room, with last known location and a full record Ask to see the whole path: trigger, delivery, acknowledgement, and the record it leaves afterwards.
Client portal Included: your client sees patrols, incidents and reports for their own sites Get it in writing whether the portal is in the base price or an add-on, and whether the client gets an app or only emailed PDFs.
Working with no signal Scans, reports, photos and visitor entries queue on the phone and sync later: the report keeps the time it happened, the scan is stamped on arrival, the clock-in needs a connection Ask for it in airplane mode during the demo, not on a slide — and ask what time each record ends up carrying.

Statements about Silvertrac come from the January 2020 acquisition press release (PR Newswire), the redirect on silvertracsoftware.com and the homepage of trackforce.com, all read in September 2026. Nothing here describes Silvertrac's current features, pricing or support; confirm those with the vendor. Silvertrac, Trackforce, TrackTik and GuardTek are trademarks of their respective owners; CGuardPro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

The rest of the process

Once you know what you are renewing, the evaluation is the ordinary one and it applies to us as much as to anyone. The checklist, the pricing-unit arithmetic, the offline demo and what a migration genuinely costs are in how to evaluate guard management software, and every comparison we publish is gathered on one page at security guard software compared.

Frequently asked questions

Is Silvertrac still a separate company?+

No. Trackforce Valiant announced its acquisition of Silvertrac Software on 10 January 2020, in a press release that described Silvertrac as focused on small and medium guard firms. Today the old silvertracsoftware.com address redirects to trackforce.com, whose homepage says "Trackforce is now home to TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac." Checked September 2026. What that means for the Silvertrac product itself is a question for Trackforce, not something we will guess at.

Is CGuardPro a real alternative to Silvertrac?+

For the kind of firm Silvertrac was built for — a regional guard company with a few dozen sites and a supervisor who also runs the software — it is a reasonable name to test. CGuardPro covers the operational core: shift scheduling, geofenced clock-in with a selfie, QR and NFC patrols, daily activity reports with shift handover, a silent panic button, push-to-talk voice, live GPS supervision and a client portal. It is also independent, which is the relevant difference on this page. Whether it fits your contracts is something to find out on a trial, not from our table.

We are a current Silvertrac customer. What should we ask?+

Four things, in writing. Which product and which legal entity your renewal will name. Whether the product you log into today is on its own roadmap or planned to move onto another platform in the group, and on what timeline. What happens to your pricing, renewal terms and service levels at the next renewal. And how you export your full history — patrols, incidents, reports — in a format you can open without them. None of those are hostile questions; a straight account manager answers all four. Our blog post on the Silvertrac, TrackTik and GuardTek consolidation has the longer version.

What does Silvertrac cost now?+

We cannot tell you, and we would rather say that than quote an old number. The Silvertrac address now leads to Trackforce, and Trackforce's pricing is quote-based. Ask for the full first-year figure early and in writing. CGuardPro publishes $5 per user per month with an optional one-time $299.99 implementation package and a 7-day free trial. Checked September 2026 — verify both on the day you decide.

Who should stay with Trackforce instead?+

A customer who is happy with the product, has a clear answer to the roadmap question, and values the breadth of a large group. Trackforce has four established brands and a long deployment history, and if your firm might grow into a larger platform there is somewhere inside the group to move you. Switching software costs time and attention even when it goes well, so a contented customer with a good renewal should weigh that heavily before moving anywhere, including to us.

How hard is it to move off an existing platform?+

The technical part is days: clients, sites and posts, the roster, patrol routes, printed codes and the app on the phones. The optional $299.99 package covers us doing the import and a training session. The part that takes longer is organisational — agreeing incident categories, updating post orders and getting supervisors to stop keeping a parallel record. Plan to keep your old history exported and archived rather than migrated line by line; for most firms that is cheaper and just as defensible.

Put a second quote next to your renewal

Bring one client and its sites. We will configure them live in the demo, so you can compare on your own posts rather than on a slide.
