Security Guard Software
for New Orleans Companies

CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in New Orleans and the surrounding parishes: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial. New Orleans work is shaped by the calendar, Carnival, festivals and big games, on top of French Quarter hotels, river terminals and the plants upriver, and Louisiana wants 16 hours of training before an officer’s first assignment.

What does guard work in New Orleans look like?

Carnival season

Weeks of parades put hotels, restaurants, parking lots and private balconies along the routes under contract security, with rosters that change daily. Build the roster per parade day, open shifts to trained officers and keep the route-side post orders on the phone.

French Quarter and CBD hotels

Hotels and bars in the Quarter and the Central Business District run door posts, lobby desks and night rounds. Incidents reported from the phone keep the real time of a disturbance, not the end of the shift.

Superdome, arena and convention center

The Caesars Superdome, Smoothie King Center and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center bring large event crews several times a year, plus the parking and nearby properties around them.

River terminals and the plants upriver

Port terminals along the Mississippi and the petrochemical plants in the river parishes want gate logs, contractor check-in and perimeter tours where each checkpoint is verified on the server with time and position.

Hospitals and universities

The downtown medical district and campuses such as Tulane and Loyola want escorts, garage rounds and incident categories that match their reporting.

Storms and the days after

Hurricane season can close posts, double others and cut cell service. Incident reports, visitor entries and tour starts queue on the phone and sync when the signal is back, so the storm still leaves a record.

What does Louisiana require of a New Orleans guard company?

Private security is licensed statewide by the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners. A company needs a qualifying person with three years of consecutive experience in a security company or as a law enforcement officer, and general liability insurance of at least $500,000 with the State of Louisiana named as an additional insured. Each officer completes 16 hours of board training, Security Officer Standards and Training (S.O.S.T.), before the first work assignment, and the registration is valid for two years. Armed officers complete firearms training and range qualification before an armed assignment, then retrain every year.

For a Carnival-season hire, the order matters: training first, then the shift. CGuardPro records each officer’s registration, training dates and expiry and warns before a lapse; it does not register anyone with the board. See our Louisiana page and how to start a security company in Louisiana.

What CGuardPro gives a New Orleans operation

Training before the first shift

S.O.S.T. dates recorded per officer, so a new hire’s readiness is visible before you schedule.

Parade-day coverage

Open shifts offered to qualified officers, and an alert when a post is still uncovered.

Works through an outage

Incidents, visitor entries and tour start and finish queue offline and sync later. Clock-in needs a live connection.

Contractor and truck gates

Entries logged from the guard app, plates read from a phone photo.

Fire watch

Timed tours over QR or NFC checkpoints, each scan time-stamped and located; the tour history is the log you hand over when asked.

Client portal

Hotels and plant managers see patrols, incidents and reports for their sites only.

New Orleans Security Software Questions

Can a new hire work a Carnival shift before finishing training?

Louisiana requires 16 hours of S.O.S.T. before the first work assignment. Record the training dates on the officer profile in CGuardPro so the scheduler sees who is ready; CGuardPro does not deliver the training or block the shift by itself.

How do we build a roster that changes every parade day?

Create each parade day or venue as its own site with posts along the route, publish the shifts and let trained officers pick up the open ones. Post orders for each spot are on the phone, and the client sees coverage in the portal.

What happens to reports when a storm knocks out service?

Incident reports, visitor entries and the start and finish of a tour queue on the phone and sync when the connection returns, keeping the time they happened. A checkpoint scanned offline is stamped when it reaches the server, and clock-in needs a live connection.

Can CGuardPro run fire watch after storm damage?

Yes. Set timed tours over QR or NFC checkpoints; each scan is time-stamped and located, the officer can add a photo or note, and a missed tour raises an alert. The tour history is the record you hand over when the owner or the fire inspector asks.

Does the City of New Orleans issue its own guard license?

We have not found a separate city guard license. Officers and companies are licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners; venues and parade organizers may add their own rules, which belong in post orders.
