Security Guard Software
for St. Louis Companies

CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in St. Louis, St. Louis County, St. Charles and the Illinois Metro East: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial. Missouri has no state guard license, so in St. Louis the police license officers locally, and a company working both sides of the river keeps Missouri local licenses and Illinois cards on the same roster.

What does guard work in St. Louis look like?

Several licenses, one officer

An officer who works a downtown tower on Monday, a St. Charles County warehouse on Wednesday and a Metro East plant on Friday may need a local Missouri license and an Illinois card. One profile with each credential and its own expiry date is the only sane way to schedule that.

Ballpark, arena and the riverfront

Busch Stadium, Enterprise Center, the downtown soccer stadium and the Gateway Arch grounds bring parking, perimeter and nearby-property posts on event days. The event roster sits beside the weekly schedule, not in place of it.

The medical campus

The BJC and Washington University medical campus in the Central West End and the hospital systems across the county want garage rounds, escorts and incident categories their security leaders recognize.

River terminals and rail

Barge and rail terminals on both banks of the Mississippi are long fence lines and gates. Checkpoints on the route, verified on the server with time and position, show the round was walked.

Distribution along I-70 and I-44

Fulfillment and distribution buildings in North County, St. Charles and the Metro East want overnight yard tours and gate logs with plates read from a photo.

Downtown offices and apartments

Office towers and converted loft buildings downtown and in the Central West End run lobby desks, visitor logs and after-hours rounds through parking garages.

Who licenses security officers in St. Louis?

Not the state: Missouri has no statewide security guard or company license. In the City of St. Louis, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Private Security Section licenses three categories, watchman, courier and security officer. A license is good for one year and must be renewed annually, and a new contract agency needs at least two years of experience in the security field, liability insurance and approved uniforms. The section takes applications at the St. Louis County Police headquarters building in Clayton.

St. Louis County Police run their own Private Security Section, and the county publishes that city and county applicants are processed together for a metropolitan license; confirm with the section which license your posts need. Across the Missouri River, St. Charles County Police license watchmen, couriers and security officers working in unincorporated St. Charles County, valid for one year. Across the Mississippi, Illinois applies: officers in the Metro East need an IDFPR employee registration card and 20 hours of basic training within 30 days of employment.

CGuardPro holds each license with its issuer and expiry on the officer profile and warns before one lapses; it files nothing with any police department. See our Missouri and Illinois pages, and the Missouri licensing guide.

St. Louis Security Software Questions

Does an officer licensed in Kansas City also count in St. Louis?

No. Kansas City and St. Louis license private security through separate police departments with separate rules and renewal dates. A company working both metros tracks both licenses per officer, each with its own date.

Does St. Charles County license security officers?

Yes, for unincorporated St. Charles County. The St. Charles County Police Private Security Section licenses watchmen, couriers and security officers there, and the licenses are valid for one year. Cities within the county may have their own rules, so ask before you staff a post.

Can one officer hold a Missouri license and an Illinois card in CGuardPro?

Yes. Each credential is stored separately with its issuer, number and expiry date, and CGuardPro warns before each one lapses. It does not block scheduling; the decision stays yours.

Our licenses renew every year. How do we avoid a lapse?

Record each license’s expiry date on the officer profile and CGuardPro warns ahead of it. With yearly renewals across a large roster, a list of what expires in the next 60 days is what keeps the schedule legal.

How do we prove a river-terminal round at night?

Put QR codes or NFC tags along the fence and at each gate. Every scan is verified on the server with its time and position, the officer can attach a photo, and a tour that is not completed raises an alert.
