Security Guard Software
for San Diego Companies
CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in San Diego County: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, with a 7-day free trial. San Diego guard work leans on life-science campuses in Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley, contractors around the military bases, the waterfront and convention district, hotels, and warehouses near the Otay Mesa border crossing.
What does guard work in San Diego look like?
Labs on the Torrey Pines mesa
Life-science companies in Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley run lobby desks, after-hours lab rounds and visitor control for vendors and contractors. Each building’s post orders describe which doors stay locked and who signs for deliveries.
Contractors near the bases
Defense and aerospace contractors around the Navy and Marine Corps installations ask for strict access control at their own facilities: who came in, who escorted them, when they left. Visitor logs from the guard app keep that record with the post.
Convention Center and Gaslamp
Big conventions downtown, hotels around the bay and nights in the Gaslamp turn into dense, temporary rosters. An event schedule built next to the permanent one shows who is double-booked before the doors open.
Otay Mesa and the border trade
Warehouses and truck yards near the Otay Mesa commercial crossing run around the clock. Gate posts log every truck with the plate read from a photo, and yard tours leave a checkpoint trail.
Waterfront and marinas
The bay waterfront, marinas and parking along the harbor want patrols over long, open routes. NFC tags or QR codes on posts and gates show the round was actually walked.
Bilingual workforce
Many officers and many clients in the region work in Spanish. The guard app, reports and the client portal are available in Spanish as well as English.
What CGuardPro gives a San Diego operation
Lobby visitor management
Visitor and contractor entries at a lab or contractor lobby, with name, host and time.
Post orders on the phone
Instructions per building, so the officer opens that lab’s rules, not a company handbook.
Visitor and vehicle logs
Truck entries at border-zone warehouses, with the plate read from a phone photo.
NFC checkpoints
NFC tags along a waterfront or marina round; each scan verified on the server with time and position.
Hours to Gusto
Hours classified Regular, Overtime and Double overtime under California’s daily rules, sent to Gusto.

What does California require of a guard company in San Diego?
San Diego follows California’s statewide rules. The company needs a Private Patrol Operator license from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services; each officer needs a guard card, issued after an 8-hour course on Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force, at least half of it in person. After that come 16 hours of skills training within 30 days, 16 more within six months and 8 hours every year, as the Bureau explains. Armed posts add a firearms permit on top of the card.
Lab and contractor clients often ask for proof of training. Officers keep their certificates and employers keep training records for the length of employment, so storing the dates on each profile saves a search later. Our California page also covers the state’s daily overtime, which our Gusto integration applies when it classifies hours.
CGuardPro is not a BSIS licensee and does not check guard cards with the state; it warns you before a card or a training date lapses. The guard card guide walks through the process.
San Diego Security Software Questions
Can CGuardPro handle visitor control at a biotech or contractor lobby?
Yes. The officer records each visitor or contractor with name, host and time from the guard app, the building’s post orders sit on the phone, and the client reads the log in the portal. Tenants can also pre-authorize guests and send them a QR code.
Our officers work in Spanish and our clients read English. Is that a problem?
No. The guard app, reports and the client portal are available in Spanish as well as English, so each person reads their own language.
How do we prove a waterfront patrol was walked?
Put NFC tags or QR codes along the route. Each scan is verified by the server with time and position, the officer can add a photo or note, and a tour that is not completed raises an alert.
Can we staff a big convention without rebuilding the schedule?
Create the convention as posts with their own dates, fill them from your officers and check for conflicts with permanent posts on the same board. When it ends, the posts end and the history stays.
Does CGuardPro handle California daily overtime?
Approved hours per officer go to Gusto as time sheets classified Regular, Overtime and Double overtime under the federal weekly rule and California’s daily rules. You run payroll in Gusto.
