Security Guard Software
for Los Angeles Companies
CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Los Angeles and its surrounding counties: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, with a 7-day free trial. Los Angeles guard work spans port terminals and container yards, warehouses heading east, studio lots and film locations, stadium event days and dispensaries, all spread over a metro measured in freeway hours.
What does guard work in Los Angeles look like?
The port complex and its yards
The San Pedro Bay ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach feed container yards, chassis lots and truck gates along the 710 and the 110. Gate posts log every truck in and out, and yard patrols need a checkpoint trail the terminal operator can audit.
Warehouses heading east
Distribution runs from the South Bay and the San Gabriel Valley toward the Inland Empire. One company may hold a dock post in Carson and a perimeter patrol in Ontario on the same night, and the schedule has to show both without a second spreadsheet.
Studio lots and location shoots
Studio gates, sound stages and film locations that move every few days mean short assignments that start early, end late and change address. A post created for a shoot carries its own geofence and its own post orders for that location.
Stadiums and arenas
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Crypto.com Arena downtown, Dodger Stadium and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena turn event days into a roster of dozens of short shifts. Push-to-talk channels in the app let the event team talk without renting radios.
Dispensaries and cash-heavy retail
Cannabis storefronts and late-night retail want an officer at the door, a log of who came in and a panic button that reaches your control room with the officer’s last known location.
Freeway distance
A field supervisor covering Santa Monica to Riverside spends the shift on the 10. Logged site inspections carry time and position, so supervision becomes something you can show the client rather than something you promise.
What CGuardPro gives a Los Angeles operation
Hours to Gusto
Approved hours per officer go to Gusto as time sheets classified Regular, Overtime and Double overtime under California’s daily rules, per post. You run payroll in Gusto.
Visitor and vehicle logs
Truck and visitor entries at a port or warehouse gate, with the license plate read from a phone photo.
Geofences per post
A radius or polygon around each post, from a studio gate to a container yard, with an alert when an officer on shift leaves it.
Push-to-talk radio
Voice channels inside the guard app over the data connection, for an event day or a new site that has no radios.
Panic button and client SOS
A silent alert from the officer or the client reaches your control room with the last known location.
English and Spanish
The guard app, reports and client portal are available in Spanish as well as English.
Posts Los Angeles guard companies staff
What does California require of a guard company in Los Angeles?
Licensing is statewide. The Bureau of Security and Investigative Services licenses the company as a Private Patrol Operator and registers each officer with a guard card. Before the card is issued the officer completes Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force training (8 hours since AB 229); then 32 hours of security officer skills, 16 within 30 days and 16 within six months, and 8 hours of continuing training every year, per the BSIS guard fact sheet. These are state credentials, and they apply the same way in Los Angeles as anywhere else in California.
Payroll is where Los Angeles bites: California pays overtime by the day as well as by the week. Our Gusto integration classifies approved hours under those daily rules before they reach Gusto.
CGuardPro does not issue or verify guard cards. It keeps each officer’s card and training dates on their profile and warns before they lapse. See our California page and the BSIS guard card guide.
Los Angeles Security Software Questions
How does CGuardPro handle California overtime for our LA officers?
Approved hours per officer are sent to Gusto as time sheets split into Regular, Overtime and Double overtime under the federal weekly rule and California’s daily rules, per post. Gusto runs the payroll; CGuardPro gets the hours there already classified. The integration is free for US companies.
We staff film shoots that move every few days. Is setting up a new post slow?
No. A post is an address, a geofence and its post orders. Create one for each location, assign the crew and archive it when the shoot wraps; the history of that post stays on the record.
Can we log trucks at a port or warehouse gate?
Yes. The officer records each entry and exit from the guard app and the license plate is read from a phone photo. The log lives with the post, and the client can read it in the portal.
Do our Spanish-speaking officers need a separate app?
No. The same guard app, its reports and the client portal are available in Spanish as well as English, so the officer and the client each read their own language.
Can one dashboard cover sites from Long Beach to Pasadena?
Yes. Every client, site and post lives in one operation, and the live board filters by client, site or supervisor. A missed tour or an uncovered post raises an alert wherever it is.
