Security Guard Software
for Omaha Companies

CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion and Council Bluffs: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, with a 7-day free trial. Nebraska has no state license for uniformed security officers, so in Omaha the paperwork question is local and contractual, while a post across the river in Council Bluffs falls under Iowa’s licensing rules.

What does guard work in Omaha look like?

College World Series weeks

Every June the College World Series fills the downtown ballpark and the blocks around it for nearly two weeks. Parking, gates, hotels and nearby properties all add short shifts at once, on top of the regular roster.

The shareholder weekend

The Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting brings tens of thousands of visitors to the downtown arena and convention center for one weekend each spring, and hotels and venues staff up for it.

Rail and freight

Omaha is a railroad headquarters town, with yards, shops and freight buildings around the metro. Fence-line tours with checkpoints the client can audit are the core of that work.

Data center campuses

Sarpy County hosts large data center campuses. Posts there are gatehouse logs, perimeter rounds on a schedule and incident reports that leave no gap in the record.

Medical center and insurance offices

The academic medical center in midtown and the insurance and finance offices downtown run lobby desks, garage rounds and escorts.

Across the river in Iowa

Council Bluffs is part of the same metro but another state. Officers working there need an Iowa identification card, so a mixed roster has two sets of rules to track.

What CGuardPro gives an Omaha operation

Scheduling and relief coverage

College World Series and shareholder-weekend shifts built in the same schedule as permanent posts.

License and certificate tracking

Iowa identification cards and any client-required certificates stored per officer with their expiry dates.

Guard tours with proof

QR or NFC checkpoints along rail property and data center fences, each scan verified with time and position.

Visitor and vehicle logs

Gatehouse entries with plates read from a phone photo.

Post orders on the phone

Each client’s post orders on the officer’s phone, since with no state training standard the client’s rules are what the officer follows.

Training records

Your own courses assigned with due dates and taken in the guard app, with completions and certificates recorded per officer.

Does Omaha require a security guard license?

Not from the state. Nebraska’s licensing law (Neb. Rev. Stat. 71-3201 to 71-3213) covers private detectives, private detective agencies and plain clothes investigators, licensed by the Secretary of State; uniformed guarding falls outside those definitions. A company that also does investigations needs those licenses, renewed by June 30 of each even-numbered year.

We have not found a separate City of Omaha security guard license; confirm with the city before you staff a post, and check what your contracts and insurer require. Across the Missouri River, Council Bluffs is in Iowa, where the Department of Public Safety licenses private security businesses and issues an identification card to each employee. Overtime in Nebraska follows the federal 40-hour weekly rule unless you agreed otherwise.

CGuardPro licenses no one. It keeps each officer’s Iowa card and any other certificates with their dates and warns before they lapse. See our Nebraska page, the Iowa page and the Nebraska licensing guide. This is a summary, not legal advice.

Omaha Security Software Questions

Do security guards in Omaha need a license?

Nebraska has no state license for uniformed security officers. We have not found a separate City of Omaha guard license either, so confirm with the city and follow what your contracts and insurer require. Plain clothes investigators and detective agencies are licensed by the Secretary of State.

What about our posts in Council Bluffs?

Council Bluffs is in Iowa, where the Department of Public Safety licenses private security businesses and each employee carries a state identification card. Store that card on the officer’s profile and CGuardPro warns before it expires.

How do we staff the College World Series without dropping regular posts?

Create the event posts with their own shifts and post orders, assign officers beside the weekly roster and watch uncovered shifts before they start. When the series ends, close the shifts and keep the history for next June.

With no state training rule, how do we show a client our officers are trained?

Build your own courses in CGuardPro, assign them with a due date and let officers take them in the guard app. Completions and quiz scores are recorded and passed courses issue certificates, so a client asking what a person completed gets an answer from the record. It does not replace any training a contract or insurer requires.

Can a data center client see every perimeter round?

Yes. A client login shows the tours with each checkpoint scan, time and position, plus incidents and daily activity reports for that site only.
