Security Guard Software
for Hartford Companies

CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Hartford and the Capitol Region: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, with a 7-day free trial. Hartford’s posts are insurance headquarters campuses, state government buildings, aerospace plants and the distribution and airport corridor along I-91, under Connecticut State Police licensing with five-year officer cards.

What does guard work in Hartford look like?

Insurance headquarters campuses

Hartford’s insurance companies run large office campuses with lobby desks, badge-less visitor control, parking garages and executive events. Their security managers expect visitor logs and post orders written to their own standards.

The Capitol and state agencies

State office buildings downtown and around the Capitol run screening posts and after-hours rounds, and agencies want an audit trail they can read.

Aerospace and precision plants

Aircraft engine and precision manufacturers east and north of the city keep fenced sites with controlled gates. Contractor and delivery logs, plus tours with checkpoints at the right doors, are the job.

Bradley and the I-91 corridor

Bradley International Airport and the distribution buildings in Windsor and East Windsor add gate posts and overnight yard tours.

Hospitals and campuses

Hartford Hospital, UConn Health in Farmington and the colleges around the city want garage rounds, escorts and incident categories their own security teams use.

Next door to Massachusetts

Springfield is half an hour up I-91. A company working both states keeps Connecticut cards for some officers and follows Massachusetts rules for others.

Visitor pre-authorization

Visitor and vehicle logs

What does Connecticut require of a guard company in Hartford?

Licensing is statewide, through the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection’s Special Licensing and Firearms Unit. A Security Service license requires the applicant to be 25 with five years of supervisory security experience (or ten as a police officer), a $10,000 surety bond and $300,000 of general liability insurance, and it is issued for two years. The agency registers each officer, who completes at least eight hours of training and holds a Security Officer card good for five years. Armed officers take an eight-hour course and an annual refresher.

We have not found a separate City of Hartford security guard license; confirm with the city. Connecticut overtime is time and a half after 40 hours in the workweek, with no daily overtime unless agreed.

CGuardPro does not register officers with the State Police. It keeps each card and refresher date on the officer profile and warns before they lapse. See our Connecticut page and the Connecticut licensing guide. This is a summary, not legal advice.

Hartford Security Software Questions

How do we track five-year Connecticut guard cards?

Store each officer’s card number and expiry on the profile, along with any armed endorsement and the annual refresher. CGuardPro warns ahead of each date; it does not block scheduling.

Does Hartford license security officers on its own?

We have not found a separate City of Hartford guard license; the State Police Special Licensing and Firearms Unit licenses companies and registers officers. Confirm with the city for anything local.

Can an insurance campus see who visited its lobby?

Yes. Give the campus security manager a client login to see visitor entries, incidents and daily activity reports for that campus only.

We also have posts in Springfield. Can one account handle both states?

Yes. Posts in both states live in the same account, and each officer’s credentials from either state are stored with their own dates. Check Massachusetts rules for those posts on our Massachusetts page.

How is CGuardPro priced?

$5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, an optional one-time implementation of $299.99 and a 7-day free trial. A user is anyone with a login, including client logins.
