Security Guard Software
for Twin Cities Companies
CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the Twin Cities suburbs: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial. Twin Cities work means two downtowns joined to their towers by skyways, corporate headquarters, stadium and arena nights and big suburban retail, and Minnesota sets a training clock that starts on each officer’s first day.
What does guard work in the Twin Cities look like?
Skyways as a patrol route
Downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul are both laced with second-floor skyways connecting towers, ramps and retail. A building’s round has to cover the skyway entrance and its hours of access, which is what checkpoints at each door prove.
Corporate headquarters
Large companies headquartered in the metro run lobby desks, visitor management and executive-floor rules. Visitor logs and per-desk post orders keep each building on its own procedure.
Stadium and arena nights
U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field, Target Center and Xcel Energy Center bring parking, perimeter and nearby property posts on game nights in both downtowns. Build the event roster without touching the weekly schedule.
Big suburban retail
The metro is home to some of the country’s largest shopping centers, plus retail corridors in every suburb. Loss-prevention-adjacent posts want incident reports with photos and a client who can read them the same day.
Winter changes the post
Ice in ramps, drifts at exits and outdoor posts at -20°F change how a shift should run. A photo attached at a checkpoint shows the client the frozen gate before it becomes a claim.
The airport and the ring of distribution
MSP Airport and the distribution buildings along I-494 and I-694 want yard tours and gate logs with plates read from a photo.
What does Minnesota require of a Twin Cities guard company?
The Minnesota Board of Private Detective and Protective Agent Services licenses protective agents (the company) under Minnesota Statutes 326.32 to 326.339; the state does not issue a separate license to each officer. The company fingerprints employees through the BCA before deployment and issues them an ID card.
Training is where the clock runs: Minn. Stat. 326.3361 requires 12 hours of preassignment or on-the-job certified training within the first 21 days of employment, then 6 hours of certified continuing training every year, and 6 more a year for armed officers. Overtime under the state law starts at 48 hours a week, but employers covered by the federal FLSA pay after 40.
CGuardPro records hire dates and training on each officer and warns before a credential expires; it does not deliver certified training or report to the board. See our Minnesota page and the Minnesota license guide.

Twin Cities Security Software Questions
Can CGuardPro show which new officers still need their 12 training hours?
Yes. Record the hire date and each certified course on the officer profile, and the team list shows who is inside the first 21 days and what has been completed. CGuardPro does not provide the certified training itself.
Which overtime threshold does CGuardPro use in Minnesota?
You plan against a weekly threshold, and CGuardPro shows who is close to it while you schedule. Minnesota’s own law starts at 48 hours, but employers covered by the federal FLSA pay after 40; most contract companies plan to the 40.
How do we prove a skyway door was checked at closing?
Place a QR code or NFC tag at the door and add it to the closing round. The scan is verified on the server with its time and position, and the officer can add a photo or a note if the door was found open.
Can we run Minneapolis and St. Paul accounts as one operation?
Yes. All clients, sites and posts live in one operation, and the live board filters by client, site or supervisor, so both downtowns and the suburbs are managed from one screen.
Does Minneapolis or St. Paul require a city security license?
We have not found a separate city guard license in either city. The credential that applies is the Minnesota protective agent license; venues and building owners may add their own rules, which belong in post orders.
