Idaho security guard software
for companies licensed by Boise and other cities
CGuardPro is security guard management software for Idaho guard companies: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR and NFC guard tours, incident reports, gate and visitor logs, tracking for Boise and other city licenses, and a client portal, with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month with a 7-day free trial. Idaho has no state guard license, so the records that matter are the city ones you keep per officer.
What running guards in Idaho actually involves
No state license, so Boise sets the bar
Idaho does not license security guards or guard companies at the state level. The rules come from cities, and the most detailed regime most operators meet is the City of Boise’s, run by the City Clerk’s licensing office.
Boise company license: $500,000 and a $10,000 bond
Boise’s Security Company License asks for a $500,000 certificate of liability insurance and a $10,000 fiduciary bond, both naming the City of Boise. Uniforms are photo-approved at application and every three years after.
Every Boise officer holds a personnel license
Beyond the company license, Boise says all other employees need their own Security Personnel License, with a $2,500 bond naming the city. A concealed weapons permit does not replace the FBI record check.
Fingerprints in person at City Hall
Boise processes neither license until the applicant has been fingerprinted in person at City Hall. That is a trip for each new hire, so it belongs in the onboarding checklist, not after the first shift.
Each city is its own question
Outside Boise, some cities license security agents and some do not. Coeur d’Alene, for example, lists a security agent license on its own licensing portal. For every post, check the city where the post physically sits.
Treasure Valley growth
Boise, Meridian and Nampa have added housing, retail centers, warehouses and construction sites at a fast pace, and new subdivisions and apartment complexes are where many contract hours start.
Food processing and agriculture
Potato, dairy and food processing plants across southern Idaho run around the clock, with truck gates, cold-storage yards and seasonal peaks that call for vehicle logs and steady overnight rounds.
Labs, chips and campuses
Idaho National Laboratory near Idaho Falls, semiconductor manufacturing in Boise and the state’s university campuses bring badge-controlled entrances, visitor escorts and clients that expect a clean daily record.

Idaho questions, answered plainly
Does Idaho require a state security guard license? +
No. Idaho has no statewide license for security guards or guard companies. Cities license locally: Boise requires a Security Company License for the business and a Security Personnel License for each employee, and other cities set their own rules. Confirm with the city clerk wherever you have a post.
What does Boise ask of a security company? +
According to the City of Boise, a $500,000 certificate of liability insurance and a $10,000 fiduciary bond naming the city, an in-person background check and fingerprinting at City Hall, and uniform photo approval at application and every three years. Each employee needs a Security Personnel License with a $2,500 bond.
Can CGuardPro track Boise licenses alongside other city permits? +
Yes. Each officer record can hold several credentials, each with its own number, issue and expiry dates and a photo of the card, and a daily check warns the office before any of them expires. It warns rather than blocks, and it does not check any city’s licensing records.
Does Idaho have a daily overtime rule? +
No. The Idaho Department of Labor follows the federal Fair Labor Standards Act: time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a workweek for non-exempt employees. CGuardPro tracks weekly hours against that threshold before you add another shift.
How is it priced? +
It is $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, plus an optional one-time implementation package of $299.99. A user is anyone with a login, including client logins. There is a 7-day free trial.
