THERMS alternative
when reports are not the whole job

CGuardPro is a THERMS alternative for security companies that need more at the post and in the control room: selfie clock-in, geofence exit alerts, panic and client SOS, push-to-talk radio and an alarm receiver. It is not the cheaper option for most teams. THERMS publishes banded prices that beat CGuardPro's $5 per user above about 30 users, and it is strong on reports and records. Pick on what you need, not on price.

What does THERMS do well?

THERMS (listed on Capterra as The Report Management System) calls itself "the all-in-one security guard software for patrol operations", and its strength is the record. Officers file template-driven reports that move through review into client-ready PDFs. Records track people, property, vehicles and items with a history. Locations carry QR and NFC tags, sub-locations and BOLOs. There is a dispatch console with a live map and GPS playback, a scheduler, internal communications and a separate client portal app.

The commercial terms are just as plain. Every feature is on every band, billing is month to month with no contract, the trial is 14 days with no card, and the first charge comes 30 days after sign-up. All of that is on its pricing page as of October 2026.

How much does THERMS cost compared with CGuardPro?

Users THERMS per month (published band) CGuardPro per month ($5 × users)
5 $45 (1–5 band) $25
15 $105 (6–15 band) $75
30 $155 (16–30 band) $150
50 $215 (31–50 band) $250
100 $390 (76–100 band) $500
200 $690 (151–200 band) $1,000

THERMS figures from therms.io/pricing, read in October 2026; THERMS bills on the highest number of active users in the period. CGuardPro adds a one-time $299.99 implementation fee; THERMS mentions no setup fee. Ask each vendor whether client portal logins count as users.

Why choose CGuardPro over THERMS?

Because the hard questions from clients are often about presence, not paperwork. Was the officer there at 2 a.m.? Did they leave the post? Who answered when the alarm went off? CGuardPro is built around those answers:

  • Clock-in with a face and a fix. A live GPS position and a selfie on every clock-in.
  • A geofence per post, drawn as a radius or a polygon, with an alert when the officer walks out of it.
  • Scans that hold up: QR or NFC checkpoints, each scan checked on the server against time and position, with a missed-tour alert when a round is skipped.
  • Emergencies: a guard panic button and an SOS your client can raise from their own app.
  • The control room: push-to-talk radio in the guard app and an alarm receiver for Contact ID, SIA DC-09 and Surgard signals.
  • Payroll hand-off: for US companies, approved hours go to Gusto, free, as regular, overtime and double overtime time sheets.

If your operation is mostly patrol reporting and your clients are happy with a well-made PDF, THERMS at its price is hard to beat, and we would tell you so.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best THERMS alternative?+

If you like THERMS for reporting but need more at the post and in the control room, CGuardPro is the alternative to test. It adds selfie clock-in, geofence exit alerts per post, panic button and client SOS, push-to-talk radio, an alarm receiver and a Gusto hand-off for US payroll. It costs $5 per user per month plus $299.99 once, with a 7-day free trial. Above about 30 users THERMS is cheaper, so choose on features, not price.

Is CGuardPro cheaper than THERMS?+

Only for small teams. As of October 2026 THERMS publishes banded monthly prices: $45 for up to 5 users, $155 for 16 to 30, $215 for 31 to 50, $390 for 76 to 100. At $5 per user, CGuardPro is cheaper up to 30 users and more expensive above that. At 100 users THERMS is $390 a month and CGuardPro $500. THERMS also mentions no setup fee, where we charge $299.99 once.

What does THERMS do well?+

Reports and records. THERMS builds template-driven reports that move through review into client-ready PDFs, keeps records of people, property, vehicles and items with history, supports BOLOs, and includes a dispatch console with GPS playback and a client portal app. Pricing is public, month to month, with no contract and every feature on every band. That is a good offer.

Does THERMS have a panic button or push-to-talk?+

Its feature pages, read in October 2026, do not describe either, nor an alarm receiver or offline mode. That does not prove they are missing; ask THERMS. CGuardPro includes a guard panic button, client SOS, push-to-talk radio in the guard app and an alarm receiver for Contact ID, SIA DC-09 and Surgard.

How do I move from THERMS to CGuardPro?+

Export what THERMS lets you export, then bring officers, clients, sites and posts, schedules and checkpoint lists. The one-time $299.99 implementation covers setting up the account and sites, importing that data, training and go-live support. Run one site on both systems for a week or two before moving the rest. THERMS bills month to month, so you can overlap without a contract penalty, according to its pricing page.
