Delaware security guard software
for Class B agencies licensed by the State Police
CGuardPro is security guard management software for Delaware private security agencies: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR and NFC guard tours, gate and visitor logs, incident reports and tracking of every officer’s yellow card and red card dates, with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month with a 7-day free trial. Licensing runs through the Delaware State Police Professional Licensing Section; the software keeps the records around it.
What running guards in Delaware actually involves
State Police licensing, Board approval
Delaware security licensing runs through the State Police Professional Licensing Section. New agencies, and renewals with changes, also go before the Board of Examiners of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies, which meets quarterly. Time your application to the calendar.
Class B agency: $1 million in coverage
A Class B private security agency needs a license holder aged 25 or older with five years of investigative or police experience, or four years as a manager at a licensed security agency, plus a $10,000 agency bond and $1,000,000 in general liability per occurrence.
The yellow card expires on a birthday
Unarmed officers complete a mandatory training program and a test, then hold a yellow card valid for five years that expires on their birthdate. Training is required again at renewal, so the roster’s renewals scatter across the calendar.
A 15-day email bridge
A newly licensed officer receives a 15-day temporary approval by email that stands in for the card. An officer may only work while employed by a licensed Class B or Class C agency, and must carry the license on duty.
Red card: 40 hours and three shoots a year
Armed officers complete a 40-hour firearms course with daylight and low-light shoots. The endorsement runs to the end of the calendar year, and keeping it means a third shoot by December 31, at least 60 days after the others.
Wilmington banks and corporate offices
Wilmington’s financial services and corporate headquarters want lobby desks, badge checks and visitor records, with incident reports a compliance team will read.
Chemical plants and the Port of Wilmington
Chemical and industrial sites along the Delaware River and the port’s terminals put officers on gates, perimeters and vehicle logs where a scanned checkpoint is the only proof of a patrol.
Beach season and race weekends
Rehoboth and the beaches swell in summer, and race weekends in Dover bring crowds for a few days. Short deployments need fast scheduling and post orders on every officer’s phone.

Step by step: Delaware Security Guard Company License Guide
Delaware questions, answered plainly
Who licenses security guards in Delaware? +
The Delaware State Police, Professional Licensing Section. Agencies are licensed by class, with new agencies approved by the Board of Examiners of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies. Unarmed officers hold a yellow card and armed officers a red card, and an officer may only work while employed by a licensed Class B or Class C agency.
How long does a Delaware security guard license last? +
The State Police says the unarmed license is valid for five years and expires on the officer’s birthdate, with training required again at renewal. The firearms endorsement runs only to the end of the calendar year and is kept by completing a third qualification shoot by December 31.
Can CGuardPro remind us about the December 31 firearms shoot? +
Yes, if you record it. Each credential, including the red card endorsement, sits on the officer record with its own expiry date, and a daily check warns the office ahead of it on a window you choose. It warns rather than blocks and does not check anything with the State Police.
Does Delaware have its own overtime law? +
No. Delaware has no separate state overtime statute, so the federal rule applies: time and a half after 40 hours in a workweek for non-exempt employees. CGuardPro tracks each officer’s hours against the weekly threshold, and approved hours can go to Gusto as time sheets.
How is it priced? +
It is $5 per user per month, one plan with every feature, plus an optional one-time implementation package of $299.99. A user is anyone with a login, including client logins. There is a 7-day free trial.
