Security Guard Software
for Baltimore Companies
CGuardPro is security guard management software for companies running posts in Baltimore and Central Maryland: scheduling and relief coverage, GPS and selfie clock-in, QR or NFC guard tours, incident and daily activity reports and a client portal, in one web command center with guard, supervisor and client apps for iOS and Android. It costs $5 per user per month, with a 7-day free trial. Baltimore work is anchored by port terminals, large academic medical centers, the Inner Harbor and two downtown stadiums, with accounts running down I-95 toward Washington, and every officer carries a Maryland State Police certification on a three-year cycle.
What does guard work in Baltimore look like?
Port terminals and Sparrows Point
The Port of Baltimore’s terminals handle cars, containers and bulk cargo, and Tradepoint Atlantic has turned Sparrows Point into a distribution district. Gate logs with plates and perimeter tours with server-verified checkpoints are the daily work.
Academic medical centers
Johns Hopkins, the University of Maryland Medical Center and the hospital systems around them run large security programs with contract posts for garages, entrances and satellite buildings, and want incidents classified the way their teams report them.
Inner Harbor and two stadiums
Hotels, offices and attractions around the Inner Harbor sit next to M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards, so a game day pulls crews for parking, perimeter and nearby properties at once.
Down I-95 toward Washington
BWI Airport, the federal facilities in Anne Arundel County and office parks along the corridor mean many Baltimore companies also hold Washington-area accounts. Supervisors log site visits with position and time across the whole route.
A 90-day renewal lead time
Maryland asks for certification renewal at least 90 days before expiry. A list of officers whose certification ends in the next four months, with their continuing training hours, is the planning tool that matters.
Campuses and residential towers
Universities across the city and apartment buildings downtown and in Harbor East want lobby desks, garage rounds and a report the property manager can read without calling.
What does Maryland require of a Baltimore guard company?
The Maryland State Police Licensing Division licenses security guard agencies and certifies the officers. The agency license requires an applicant of at least 25 with qualifying experience, an office in the State and commercial general liability insurance, and it is valid for three years. Each officer must be at least 18, complete 12 hours of initial security training approved by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission and be employed by a licensed agency or a registered employer.
The certification lasts three years; renewal needs 8 hours of approved continuing training, and the State Police ask for the application at least 90 days before the current certification expires. CGuardPro records certification dates and training on each officer and warns before expiry, so the 90-day mark is visible; it does not connect to the MDSP portal. See our Maryland page and the Maryland license guide.

Baltimore Security Software Questions
How far ahead should we renew a Maryland security guard certification?
The Maryland State Police ask for the renewal application at least 90 days before the current certification expires, with 8 hours of approved continuing training. Record each expiry in CGuardPro and it warns ahead of the date, so the officers who need to apply this quarter are visible.
Does Baltimore City issue its own guard license?
We have not found a separate Baltimore City guard license. The Maryland State Police license agencies and certify officers statewide; facility clients such as hospitals or terminals may add their own badge and access rules, which belong in post orders.
Can we run Baltimore and Washington, D.C. accounts together?
Yes. Every client, site and post lives in one operation, and the live board filters by client, site or supervisor. D.C. has its own licensing, so store each officer’s D.C. and Maryland credentials separately with their own expiry dates.
How do we prove a terminal perimeter round at night?
Put QR codes or NFC tags at each gate and along the fence. Every scan is verified on the server with its time and position, the officer can attach a photo or note, and a tour that is not completed raises an alert.
Can a hospital see only its own buildings?
Yes. Each client login is limited to that client’s sites, so a hospital’s security manager sees patrols, incidents and daily activity reports for its buildings and nothing else you guard.
